Ice & Snow Melt

Keep your parking lots and walkways safe!

When the weather gets nasty, we can help make sure your property is safe. We offer pre-treatment before snow/ice storms or we can service your business afterwards to help accelerate the melting process.

Choosing to use Ice Melt can prevent dangerous slip-and-falls as well as any hazardous conditions for driving. If you have a parking lot, walkways, or large entrance, this is the best solution for removing ice!

What is Ice Melt?

Ice melt is a liquid pre-treatment applied to concrete and asphalt to help melt ice and snow. Ice melt works by lowering the freezing point of water, so water will remain liquid at temperatures colder than 32F. It works best as a pre-treatment so it can form a barrier over the concrete to keep ice from accumulating, but it works afterwards as well.

Ice Melt vs. Rock Salt

The Ice Melt that we use is non-toxic and calcium chloride based. It’s generally safe for most pets and plants, while rock salt can be more harmful to plants and vegetated areas. Rock salt can also be dangerous to pets and animals since it cause gastrointestinal disorders when ingested. Ice Melt also works much faster than rock salt because it is able to generate natural chemical heat.

Will Ice Melt Damage Concrete?

The easy answer is no. But there are some fair concerns that de-icers can damage the concrete due to the chemicals that heat and melt the ice. The good news is that our ice-melt is not salt based and is a much more environmentally-friendly solution. Also, the chemicals in the ice melt are not going to harm the concrete.

Additionally, the residue of salt that is left behind can damage concrete, pavers, lawns, wood, and decking. It can also be tracked inside to damage floor coverings and wooden floors. This is not the case with our ice-melt products.
